Dinner With Steve

Yeah, Steve is the preferred way that Stephen J. Cannell likes to be addressed. The prolific giant of TV series looks just as he did on the closing credits of his many series - down to the turtleneck shirt. He suffered and suffers with dyslexia. It could be said that it provided the motivation for him to succeed. After suffering much embarrassment in school, he finally found a professor/mentor who convinced him that he had writing talent. After squeaking by to graduate from college, he spent six years spending his spare time after work writing five hours a day before things broke for him. His work day today is much the same. He wakes up at 3:30AM, works out for an hour, then writes for five hours - and THEN goes to work running his studio. He gladly embraces this discipline because he found his talent and is happy to work hard at it. His high school yearbook profession wish was to be an AUTHOR. He could not be that without writing books. And now, he has several bestsellers. It is simply inspirational to listen to him. He also spoke of his experiences in Hollywood and the many celebrity actors he has worked with. If any of you would like more on that, let me know.
