The Village of the Arts is looking for Musicians/Musical Groups/Bands who would like to play for our Fall/Winter/Spring Events Season. The Village holds Artwalks the first Friday night and first Saturday of every month. We also have many other events during the season. April is Jazz Month and we would like some jazz music throughout the Village.

The Village is a not-for-profit, we have a limited budget for music for the whole year. Generally we cannot pay the musicians, but for certain special events we do pay a small fee. What we do is place musicians/duos/trios/bands at various locations throughout the Village during an event. We have portable stages and electricity for your use. We have almost 40 Galleries/Shops/Eateries/Studios in the Village. Individual musicians, duos or trios are placed front gardens, on front porches or inside the establishments, it depends on the Gallery owner's space. The larger bands we place on the corner of 11th Ave and 12th Street in an outdoor setting.

We encourage musicians/bands to bring your CDs and T-shirts to sell to the public and set out a tip jar, bring lots of business cards and any other literature/information you have about your music/band to hand out to the public. Create a display board (chalk or dry erase boards usually work wonderfully), set it on a easel and list all your upcoming gigs. This is a great venue for upcoming new bands and individual musicians to get your name out to the public. People actually hear your music live and it is a great way to acquire future bookings. The tip jar will help to cover your gas. If you do not have a gig booked on a First Friday night, it beats sitting a home doing nothing. We would love to have you.

The Gallery will also allow you to post a list (a poster, dry erase board, chalk board, etc.) of all your upcoming engagements. This will also help promote the musician.

These are usually non-paying gigs. The Village of the Arts is a not-for-profit org. We have a very small budget for music for the whole season. What we like to do is allow the musician/group to put out a tip jar, to sell their CDs, T-Shirts and any other promo items they have, and to hand out business cards and literature about themselves. It is a good way to get exposed to the public and to get paying gigs. The gallery will let all their clientele know the musician will be there, and the Village will advertise live music.
