As a free lance designer in the fashion business for many years I've elected (no, NOT retired) to just embrace metalsmithing trying to keep it more as a hobby that a outright business. But how much silver can you buy and jewelry can you make before needing to market it? I'm exploring some possibilities that don't involve alot of paperwork.... Writing has always been a passion and part of any career and that will always be there. I currently monitor the Open Jewelry Studio at Art Center Manatee, probably the best community studio in the Tampa Bay area.

Since I live in Sarasota I don't have the opportunity to sample much in Bradenton except that cool riverside restaurant over the bridge into Palmetto

Thanks for offering to pick up supplies for me. I mainly work with beads, but thanks anyways! Hope you have a spiritual week full of fun and relaxation!
Nice to meet you Kathleen! I'm so jealous you are going to Sedona. My husband and I honeymooned there in May and we feel in love with the area. Have fun!
You are going to maybe my most favorite spot on the earth ... Sedona. I finished school in Flagstaff ... 1978 ... and would often take drives to Sedona for the day ... swim in Oak Creek Canyon and have lunch in a little wood structure "hanging" over a canyon. It was great, I'm sure it has changed. I often think about going back , however, I wonder if I should be content and happy with the warm memories I have. I bought my first once of gold there and I sold a number of early pieces in a gallery in Sedona.
Have a great time. Enjoy it! It is a wonderful and very spiritual place to spend time.
