Bonnie, thanks for doing the Dec Artwalk. Beverly said you were great. Sorry I did not get a chance to come by and see you/meet you. I did not have anyone to cover my Gallery for me. I hope you got some recognition and some booking from it.
Thanks again. Christina

I already have piano and vocals at my Gallery, but I will put the word out and see who have a place for you and let you know. Thanks a million.

Would you prefer to be inside a Gallery or out in a front garden where all passing will hear you?

Like I said, we can't pay in the Village, but if the Musician doesn't have a gig booked for a first Friday night, it is better than sitting a home. At least they can put a tip jar out and sell their CD's. They might book some future gigs out of it, especially if they let people know they play for private parties, etc. Most of my Musicians who play in the Village, look at it as a great live practice secession.

Thanks, I will post on the musicians page, I think I need to join the group. I need to put a page up for my Husband, he is a musician, guitar player, and he builds guitars, acoustic, electric and electric basses. He also builds boutique effects devices, fuzz boxes, distortions, eq's, etc. He does all the electronics, wires it all by hand, then he does custom painting on the boxes. They are quit nice. I have just been so busy, have not had a chance to get his page done.

Hi Bonnie, What we typically do in the Village of the Arts for Artwalk is place musicians around the Village at various locations. The past two Artwalks we have had live music in 8 or 9 locations. We have approximately 40 Galleries now throughout the Village. We are a not-for-profit and do not have a very large budget for Music for the whole year. I know Musicians are like artists, starving and like to be paid for playing. What we typically do is allow the Musician/Duo/Trio/Band to put out their CD's, T-Shirts, Literature and/or business cards, and a tip jar. Some Galleries have the musicians inside the Gallery, some have them out front in their front gardens, it just depends on the Gallery and what space they have available. We also encourage the musician to put up a chalk board or dry erase board and list all the up coming places they will be playing. It is good publicity. Most of the musicians who play in the Village do not get paid, they usually do it as a way to get their name out to the public and hopefully book some future gigs. Once in a while, for a special event we might pay a musician or a band a small fee. We would love to have any musicians/duos/trios/bands who have the time available because they don't have another gig, to come to the Village and play for one or several of our upcoming Artwalks. Our Artwalks are First Friday Nights from 6-9:30 pm and First Saturdays from 11am-4pm. As I say I have almost 40 places in the Village so I can place them around. I always have more Galleries than I have musicians looking for a space. I am the chair of the Music Committee for the Village so they can contact me here at Anything Arts or directly at leeshoregallery@tampabay.rr.com or at 941-750-8203. In December we will have two Artwalks, the First and Second weekends. We would love live music at both. The second weekend we want to have Holiday Music playing throughout the Village. Let me know if you have anyone interested. They can play either Friday night or Saturday. We have more live music on Friday nights, but we also like some on First Saturdays too.

The thing to do, Bonnie, is to contact Christina Lee
of Lee-Shore Gallery (she's on AArts too). Especially if you're
interested in bringing some of your music.

Sounds good - she'll be happy to hear from you.
